Joe Warburton, PGA

Golf professional who served the game and the country

Joe Warburton started his professional golf career as an assistant golf professional in Provo, Utah, in 1948. He joined the Air Force later that year and won the Basic Trainees’ Open. In 1966, he became the head professional and general manager at Chula Vista Municipal Golf Course. He held that position for 19 years before retiring in 1985. He was named SCPGA Golf Professional of the Year and earned Honorary Life Member status.
