Joe Walser, PGA

Stellar PGA professional and golf developer

Walser was known by many as a friendly, trustworthy, and insightful person who built his career as a player, PGA Professional, and golf developer. Born and raised in Oklahoma, Walser was an accomplished high school amateur golfer which led to a full scholarship to Oklahoma State University. After his collegiate career, Walser turned professional in 1954 and would win 25 amateur events during his career, including the Oklahoma Open.

After leaving the tour, Walser worked at a variety of golf facilities in Oklahoma and was awarded the 1970 PGA of America Horton Smith award.

In 1971, Walser formed Unique Golf Concepts with Ernie Vossler and later founded (with Johnny Pott) Landmark Land Company, LLC which in ‘92 became Landmark Golf LP. The development company would be responsible for building Oak Tree Golf Club, Oak Tree Country Club, and the Stadium Course at PGA WEST.
