Growing up in San Diego, Frank was somewhat of a junior golf sensation, competing against the likes of Billy Casper and Gene Littler, before a successful four years as a collegiate player at San Diego State University. He was the Head Golf Professional at the historic Wilshire Country Club for 25 years (1963-1988). He was named the SCPGA Golf Professional of the Year in 1972, and became the President of the SCPGA from 1975-1977.
