Bill Hartley, PGA

Served the game and the country

Bill Hartley was a lifetime member of the PGA of America, and earned SCPGA Golfer of the Year many times. Bill grew up in High Point, North Carolina, graduating from Wake Forest College as a scholarship basketball player. He met his lovely bride there and the two went on to gain their Masters degrees from the University of Tennessee. Hartley was drafted in to the Marines where he served in the Korean War, 29 Palms, and later at Camp Pendleton as the Golf Professional for 25 years. After serving in the military, his interests in golf grew and he helped and brought fruition the development of Vista Valley Country Club where he served as their head golf professional for many years.
